The Central Bank of Ireland 1943

In 1943 The Central Bank of Ireland was created to replace the Currency Commission which ceased to exist.
The Central Bank of Ireland continued to issue the A Series Legal Tender banknotes under its new title.

The Consolidated Banknote issue was terminated, and with it the right of the eight commercial banks to issue notes. Northern Ireland note issues were unaffected.
