Central Bank of Ireland War Code Notes (A Series)

1943–1944 World War 2 Special Marking War Code notes (Type 5)


When the Central Bank of Ireland replaced the Currency Commission in 1943, the War Code Special Identification Marking was retained on the basic A Series note design.

The only other change to the design of the notes was the title of the Issuing Authority which was altered from Currency Commission Ireland to The Central Bank of Ireland.

There are 16 code variations for Central Bank SIM code banknotes
There are 26 Ten Shilling; 26 One Pound; 18 Five Pound; 16 Ten Pound; and 11 Twenty Pound note dates for the Central Bank of Ireland war code notes, making a total of 97 to collect
