The Central Bank of Ireland 1943


In 1943 The Central Bank of Ireland was created to replace the Currency Commission which ceased to exist.

The Central Bank of Ireland continued to issue the A Series Legal Tender Notes under its new title.

The Consolidated Bank Note issue was terminated, and with it the right of the eight commercial banks to issue notes. Northern Ireland Issues were unaffected.
